TROY – If your company is involved aerospace, defense, and homeland security; life sciences and biotechnology; cleantech; information and communications technology; nanotechnology; and renewable energy, Automation Alley wants you to sign up for its next trade mission to Israel this October.
The six-day mission, from Oct. 23-29, will visit Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Haifa. Automation Alley is now accepting applications from companies interested in tapping into the technology found in Isreal.
“Israel is a haven for research and development,” said Automation Alley Executive Director Ken Rogers. “Israel’s largest trading partner is the United States in terms of both imports and exports and has a strong demand for Michigan-made products, services and technologies. We want to get the word out that Southeast Michigan is open for business and investment.”
The trade mission will allow participants to meet with buyers and end users of products and services, seek joint-venture partnerships, pursue technology licensing agreements, and explore venture capital and commercialization opportunities. It will also enable participants to better understand trade opportunities across key economic hubs in Israel, as well as allowing attendees to meet with high-ranking government officials and industry representatives.
Targeted industries on the upcoming mission include aerospace, defense, and homeland security; life sciences and biotechnology; cleantech; information and communications technology; nanotechnology; and renewable energy.
Southeast Michigan companies interested in attending the trade mission must be export-ready and conduct business in one of the industries previously noted. All Automation Alley trade missions include the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Gold Key Service, which provides pre-screened, pre-qualified meetings based on a company’s goals and objectives.
Automation Alley and the U.S. Department of Commerce staff works closely to provide assistance to trade mission participants before, during and after the mission. The Automation Alley member cost to attend is $5,595 per person and includes airfare, hotel, ground transportation, matchmaking meetings and other travel-related expenses. The price for non-members is $6,995.
Past trade missions have resulted in the creation of more than 200 jobs while generating $135 million in contracts Automation Alley member companies and Southeast Michigan. In addition, the organization was awarded the Presidential “E” Award for Exporting, the highest honor the federal government can give to an American exporting company or organization in 2008.
