NOVI ? Arbor Wind Power Turbines won the TiEQuest business-plan competition hosted by TiE Detroit, while Environmental Transporation Solutions was the runner up. Each won cash prizes. But Arbor Wind is automatically entered in the TiE Global competition as well as a semi finalist in the $1 million Accelerate Business Innovation Competition.

The Winner, Arbor Wind Power Turbines, won $7,500. Runner up Environmental Transportation Solutions received $2,500.

Twenty three companies registered. The other three finalists were:

GCI Global Healthcare ? Farmington Hills

MitoStem ? Detroit

Naan Stop ? Ann Arbor

?We were very happy to see a wide variety of entries that came for the competition,? said TiE Detroit President Rupesh Srivastava. ?We have clean tech, health care, and food related companies. We had a very wide field that tells you what is going on in Michigan. Our judges found these two companies have the best potential for Michigan, based on what they have done and what they have planned for the future. We are very hopeful these companies will do well in the future.?

Arbor Wind gets entered as a semi finalist in the $1 million Accelerate Michigan Innovation Competition as well as in TiEGlobal?s business plan competition as the entrant from Michigan.
