ANN ARBOR – Washtenaw County development agency Ann Arbor SPARK has named Christine Turner as executive director, business development. In her role, Turner will join Vince Nystrom and Ann Arbor SPARK’s business development team in managing business attraction and retention efforts, cultivating a vibrant and robust business community throughout Washtenaw County.

Prior to joining Ann Arbor SPARK, Turner served as a marketing and sales consultant, specializing in life science start-up companies as well as being part the executive team at one of the only Biotech IPOs in Michigan. Turner’s diverse experience includes more than 15 years experience in high-tech product and sales management.

“Christine’s hand’s on experience with regional start-ups provides the expert insider’s view of business development that’s crucial for maintaining and growing Ann Arbor’s leadership as an innovation hub,” said Michael A. Finney, Ann Arbor SPARK president and CEO. “Christine will work to support Ann Arbor SPARK’s aggressive business attraction and retention plans, collaborating with businesses and communities locally, at the state level and beyond.”

Throughout her experience, Turner has helped several Ann Arbor region companies, including Assay Designs, Accuri Cytometers and Sensicore, with strategic sales planning, product planning and budgeting.

Turner earned a bachelor of science degree in Biology and Chemistry from Western Michigan University.
