ANN ARBOR – Gateway’s interim CEO Rick Snyder entered into an employment contract with the PC maker that calls for an annual base salary of $500,000, according to Gateway’s filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Synder, who was named interim CEO in February following the resignation of Wayne Inouye, will also receive 600,000 stock options under the company’s equity incentive plan. Synder, however, will not be eligible to participate in the company’s bonus plan.
Snyder is founder of Ardesta, an Ann Arbor company that invests in small tech products – nano technology. Ardesta was formed in October 2000, when it raised almost $100 million in private funding. Ardesta has created five Small Tech start-up companies (many involving technology licensed from universities) and has invested in a number of early stage companies focusing on Small Tech’s role in next generation products for the areas of Communications, Energy, Environmental Safety/Security, and Medical Diagnostics and Treatment.
Snyder also is Chairman of SPARK, an Ann Arbor economic development organization that combined the functions of the Ann Arbor Smart Zone, Ann Arbor IT Zone and the Washtenaw Development Council.
