DETROIT – As part of Comcast’s multi-million dollar nationwide commitment to improve customer service, the company will open a new XFINITY retail store in Detroit’s Midtown on Feb. 22.

Located at 3907 Woodward Avenue at the corner of Selden St., the new 1,770 square-foot space is designed entirely around the needs of customers, providing them with an opportunity to explore, learn about and interact directly with the latest XFINITY services.

“It’s great to see Comcast, a home grown company, expanding in Detroit,” said Detroit Councilman Scott Benson District 3. “The company has been providing its products and services across all of Detroit’s neighborhoods for many years. Comcast’s presence in Midtown will support this thriving area and make it easier for Detroit residents to learn about their new technology.” 

The new store will feature flat screen HD TVs and a comfortable seating area so visitors can settle in and experience the company’s X1 entertainment operating system as though they’re in their own homes. Through hands-on demonstrations, customers can learn about other XFINITY products, including high-speed Internet and voice and connected home solutions. The store also will feature iPads for visitors to trial XFINITY’s mobile apps that let customers watch live TV, stream On Demand content, download movies and TV shows, and manage and monitor their homes while on the go.

“The technology in our homes is much more complex than ever before,” explained Jason Gumbs, Comcast’s Heartland Region vice president of marketing. “We design our new stores to make it easy for customers to learn in an engaging, hands-on way about the many capabilities of the products and services we offer that they rely on every day.”

Along with product and service demos, customers can pay bills, pick up and return equipment and get assistance from trained, knowledgeable sales consultants. The Midtown XFINITY Store has six employees. Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
