GRAND RAPIDS – Join Michigan Sustainable Business Forum as it leads a discussion on how attractions in the Great Lakes region are leading the way in climate and sustainability.

Cultural institutions such as museums, zoos and other attractions serve an important role in their communities as a resource for information and to build awareness of the issues impacting our world today, and often their broader context in history.

Many of these institutions are leaders in environmental stewardship, sustainability, and climate action. With 35,000 museums alone in the U.S. producing some 12 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions each year, cultural attractions have an opportunity to serve as demonstration centers for businesses and communities across the country.

Speakers:

  • Joyce Lee, President, IndigoJLD Green + Health and chair of the American Alliance of Museums Environment and Climate Network
  • Allmon Forrester, Director of Facility and Sustainability, John Ball Zoo
  • Leslie Tom, Sustainability Director, The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History
