ANN ARBOR – The National Advanced Mobility Consortium, Inc. announced  the opening of its new headquarters in Ann Arbor. This expansion reflects NAMC’s continued growth and its commitment to advancing defense technology and innovation.
Over the past two years, NAMC has experienced significant growth, doubling its staff and outgrowing its previous office space. The move to a larger facility is driven by the momentum of being awarded the Detroit Arsenal Innovation (DAI) Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) from the U.S. Army in 2023 and the increasing demand for NAMC’s services. The new office, located at 880 Technology Drive in the Avis Technology Park, spans over 7,000 square feet and offers an innovative design that promotes collaboration, creativity, and innovation.

“We are thrilled to open our new headquarters in Ann Arbor, a city known for its innovation and technological prowess. This new space will not only allow us to better serve our members and government customers but also enable us to collaborate more effectively and foster the development of cutting-edge defense technologies. We are excited to be a part of the vibrant Ann Arbor community and look forward to contributing to its growth.”

Alissa Roath, Chief Executive Officer of NAMC.

The Ann Arbor headquarters will serve as NAMC’s largest footprint, housing over half of the consortium’s 18 employees. The facility features 11 private offices, hoteling space for up to 12 employees, and meeting spaces equipped with top-of-the-line AV capabilities to accommodate up to 28 participants. This expansion enhances NAMC’s ability to collaborate internally and with its government customers and member organizations, fostering an environment that leverages the diverse talents of its staff.
Since its founding in 2008, NAMC has capitalized on the rich talent pool in Ann Arbor, particularly in the technology and mobility sectors. The new headquarters will continue to attract and retain talent, fostering relationships that drive innovation. NAMC anticipates hosting meetings with members and customers, integrating them into the vibrant Ann Arbor Tech Mobility ecosystem.
The new headquarters is a testament to NAMC’s long-term vision for growth and development. With a 10-year lease and plans for continued expansion in Sterling Heights and other satellite locations, NAMC is poised to maintain its national presence while solidifying its roots in Ann Arbor.
The new office was custom-designed by Ideation Orange and constructed by PCI-Dailey Company, ensuring that the space reflects NAMC’s culture, purpose, and vision. Visitors will experience an open, organic, and warm environment, with experiential graphics showcasing the major programs and technologies that NAMC and its members have delivered to U.S. Warfighters.
“This facility is designed to enhance our operational capabilities and provide a dynamic environment for our talented team, said Warren Sponsler, Chief Operating Officer of NAMC. “We are dedicated to driving innovation and collaboration in the defense industry, and this new space will play a crucial role in achieving our mission.”
