DETROIT – MoGo, Metro Detroit’s non-profit bikeshare organization, has created a partnership with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ Outdoor Adventure Center.

The partnership, which includes a new location for Adaptive MoGo’s riverfront location, aims to enhance
the Adaptive MoGo experience for riders, and provide them with even more opportunities to bike safely
along the Riverwalk, Dequindre Cut, and other amenities that the Outdoor Adventure Center’s location
offers.

“We are ecstatic to welcome the Outdoor Adventure Center as our newest partner,” said Adriel
Thornton, executive director of MoGo. “The Outdoor Adventure Center is a renowned destination for
both residents and visitors, and the opportunity to amplify our messages alongside each other will be
pivotal for our program’s success now and in the future.”

The partnership between MoGo and the Outdoor Adventure Center represents a shared commitment to
promoting active lifestyles and environmental sustainability for all. As two organizations dedicated to
fostering outdoor recreation, community engagement, and health and wellness, this collaboration will
bring numerous benefits to both MoGo riders and Outdoor Adventure Center visitors.

“The DNR Outdoor Adventure Center has made it a priority to expand inclusion services for all of our
guests,” said Linda Walter, director of the DNR Outdoor Adventure Center. “This new service fits
perfectly with our other recent efforts, which include Communication Boards for guests who require an
alternative communication tool, Sensory Friendly Days with special accommodations, a Quiet Room for
our guests with sensory needs, and a spotting scope in Milliken State Park that enhances colors for our
friends with color vision deficiency. We are excited to partner with MoGo to encourage guests of every
ability to explore and enjoy the outdoors.”

This collaboration also expands the existing partnership between MoGo and the Michigan Department of
Natural Resources, as the two worked together – along with the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation – to
launch three new stations on Belle Isle in 2022.

Since 2018, Adaptive MoGo has offered cycling options for riders of all abilities. With 16 cycles including
recumbent tricycles, upright cargo tricycles, hand tricycles, tandem bicycles, tandem tricycles,
side-by-side quadricycles, and a box bike, Adaptive MoGo accommodates a wide range of rider needs.

“This partnership with the Outdoor Adventure Center will benefit our riders’ experience in an
immeasurable way,” said Jacob Graham, director of programming and operations at MoGo. “The
opportunity to place Adaptive MoGo adjacent to accessible bike infrastructure will improve rider safety,
and expose users to more bike-friendly amenities like the Dequindre Cut, Riverwalk, and Dennis Archer
Greenway.”

This exciting development underscores MoGo’s dedication to continually improving its programs and
providing an equitable and accessible biking experience for the residents and visitors of Metro Detroit.
