DETROIT – The award-winning, international exhibition, 1001 Inventions: Untold Stories from a Golden Age of Innovation, is coming to the Michigan Science Center Oct. 7.

1001 Inventions explores the legacy of scientific discovery and innovation during the golden age of Muslim Civilization, beginning in the 7th century and following the story through a thousand years of history and progress. Showcasing the diverse spectrum of bold thinkers and new technologies that were produced by this multi-faith, multi-cultural civilization, this exhibition has been a hit with broad appeal, from school-age children to curious young adults to families of all ages.

 

With more than 60 exhibits, 1001 Inventions is an engaging and educational experience and includes an award-winning introductory film starring Sir Ben Kingsley.  The exhibit aims to inspire young people to study and pursue careers in science while sparking creativity and innovation.

Highly successful 1001 Inventions exhibitions have premiered in many cities around the world including London, Washington DC, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Los Angeles, Kuwait, Jeddah, Sao-Paulo, Kuala Lumpur, United Nations, New York, British Parliament and UNESCO’s headquarters in Paris.
