FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Six Michigan universities made the list of the Princeton Review’s 380 Best Colleges in America. They include Albion College, Calvin College, Hillsdale College, Kalamazoo College, Michigan Technological University, and the University of Michigan.
The college preparatory services organization, which is not affiliated with Princeton University, bases its list on a survey of 143,000 students across the country. The 80-question survey asks the kind of questions students might on a campus visit — which college has the most interesting professors, the best science labs, the best career services, the best food, and the best financial aid. Extracurricular activities, the social scene, and college town life are also rated.
Colleges had to allow their students to be surveyed in order to be considered.
Those schools also made the Princeton Review’s list of 156 “Best in the Midwest” colleges and universities. Another nine Michigan schools did too. In alphabetical order, they are Alma College, Eastern Michigan University, Grand Valley State University, Hope College, Kettering University, Lawrence Technological University, Michigan State University, the University of Michigan-Flint, and Western Michigan University.
