COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP – Sigma Machine, a Tier 1 supplier, will invest $27.8 million to expand its current facility in Midlink Business Park, adding 58 new jobs.

As a result, the Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant is awarding the company $350,000. Michigan was chosen over a competing site in Wisconsin for this project.

In operation since 1955, Sigma Machine changed its direction from optical components to medical, food processing and green energy components in 1992. The company specializes in aluminum and stainless steel machining and has extensive experience in plastic and non-ferrous materials.

“Sigma Machine is a true success story for Southwest Michigan,” said Ron Kitchens, president and chief executive officer of Southwest Michigan First. “From its beginnings as a small family-owned business, Sigma Machine has grown to be a global leader in the fabrication of many components used in the rapidly growing electric vehicle market. We welcome the positive change that these 58 new jobs bring to the region, as well as the company’s innovative approach to its workforce needs.”
