ANN ARBOR – The deadline to enter the $125,000 2016 Center For Manufacturing Sciences Technology Competition, designed to introduce new technologies to the Department of Defense maintenance facilities to help sustain material readiness at reduced cost, April 19. 

The competition is a collaboration between the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences and the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Maintenance, in conjunction with this year’s CTMA Annual Partners and Integrated Project Meeting. NCMS membership is not a requirement. This competition is open to government, industry and academia.

Submissions for the 2016 CTMA Technology Competition should include an Abstract (300-500 words) and Quad Chart. Entries will be accepted until Tuesday, 19 April 2016.

CTMA project participants are required to participate in project cost sharing.

Abstracts must meet the following criteria in order to be considered for the 2016 CTMA Technology Competition:

  • Problem statement
  • Description of technology
  • Current status of the technology
  • Test data or simulation support for performance claims
  • Next steps / potential benefits
  • Cost share details

Submissions topics can include but are not limited to:

  • Corrosion
  • Light weighting
  • Composites
  • Tooling
  • Materiel
  • Big Data Management
  • Additive Manufacturing
  • Condition Based Maintenance Technologies
  • Cyber Security Innovation
  • Electronic Maintenance
