EAST LANSING — MSU Federal Credit Union and the Desk Drawer Fund foundation are excited to announce the winner of the Q2 2023 Desk Drawer Fund Member Raffle. On Friday, June 2, Desk Drawer Fund Chair Ernest Betts drew the winning ticket, announcing Elizabeth Tabor as our raffle winner. Tabor received $20,000 as the raffle prize.
“When I purchased the ticket, I never imagined that I would win,” said Tabor. “It was my lucky day!”
Throughout the year, MSUFCU and Oakland University Credit Union members have a chance to win up to $20,000 in the quarterly Desk Drawer Fund Member Raffles when they purchase raffle tickets at any of the Credit Union’s branches. The second-quarter raffle saw 2,050 tickets sold, raising a total of $41,000 for the Desk Drawer Fund. With a portion of the funds going to one lucky winner each quarter, the other half of the funds raised are donated back to the communities the foundation and the Credit Union serve. By purchasing raffle tickets, Credit Union members are supporting the foundation’s mission to contribute to the public good and make a positive impact in our communities. Members will have another chance to win when third-quarter raffle tickets go on sale Monday, July 10.
“One of the most rewarding aspects of hosting this raffle is that it allows our Credit Union members, like Ms. Tabor, to have a direct impact on making our local communities stronger,” said Susi Elkins, MSUFCU Chief Community Impact Officer. “We want to congratulate Ms. Tabor on winning the second-quarter Desk Drawer Fund Member Raffle, as well as thank all of our members who participated by purchasing tickets.”
MSUFCU’s Desk Drawer Fund foundation supports the MSUFCU and Oakland University Credit Union communities. It offers opportunities for Credit Union members, employees, and businesses to contribute to the public well-being through five philanthropic pillars — Arts and Culture, Stable Housing, Empowering Youth, Financial Education, and Fostering Entrepreneurialism. In 2022, the Desk Drawer Fund donated more than $487,000 to philanthropic causes and organizations.
