John Kirby, Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council in the White House, said the phenomena ‘have already had an impact’ on Unites States Air Force training ranges.

The White House has said that UFOs (unidentified flying objects) or UAPs (Unexplained Aerial Phenomena) are a “real issue” – and then revealed that they are having “an impact” on the United States Air Force.

It comes ahead of a UFO and UAP hearing that will be held by the House Oversight Committee next week. The admission was made by John Kirby – the White House’s Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council – during a media briefing on Monday (July 17).

When asked if the phenomena were a “legitimate concern”, he said: “Yeah. We wouldn’t have stood up an organisation at the Pentagon to analyse and collect and coordinate the way these sightings are reported if we didn’t take it seriously.”

Kirby, a retired United States Navy rear admiral, continued: “Some of these Phenomena, we know,  have already had an impact on our training ranges.  Pilots are out trying to do training in the air and they see these things.”

“They’re not sure what they are, but they can have an impact on their ability to perfect their skills. So it’s already had an impact here.”

“We just want to better understand it. We’re not saying what they are – or what they’re not.

“We’re saying there’s something that our pilots are seeing. We’re saying it has had an effect on some of our training operations – and so we want to get to the bottom of it. We want to understand it better. So, yes.”
