A recent footage purportedly showing a UFO sighting in the skies over Western Mexico has taken social media by storm, with many touting the video clip to be authentic proof of the extraterrestrial.

Knewz.com has learned that the footage, comprising of two separate video clips, was captured in the city of Zitácuaro on September 8.

More specifically, the alleged sightings were reported in the neighborhoods of El Naranjo and Manzanillos.

The footage showed what appeared to be an oval-shaped object hovering over the aforementioned city and seemingly gradually descending into the tree line.

The second video clip seen in the footage showed another similar object – presumably the same one – floating in the sky.

Although the video quality of the footage is not crystal clear, the alleged UFO is visible with a prominence not usually seen in captured flying saucer videos.

As a result, netizens have flocked to social media with their theories about the “spectacular” footage.

“That’s that eye diamond UFO shape… (Must) be some kind of organic ship,” a user commented on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Another user wrote, “Spectacular video, contact between humans and alien races is getting closer and closer… Anyone who continues to believe that it is a balloon, a drone, a hologram or something else is either blind or does not want to see reality.”

Other users, however, were skeptical of the UFO claims, with one of them offering a possible explanation, saying, “It may have been a test of a hot air balloon, as these balloons are very common in central Mexico and from a distance they can be confused with other objects.”

Another user agreed with the hypothesis that there might be life in outer space, but criticized the quality of the captured footage: “So much technology, cell phones with too many mega pixels and images like that.”

“I do believe that there is life on other planets, but some tests like this don’t help much,” they added.

“We will see more and more UFOs. And the government will make contact with them. We will obey in fear as always. But we will never see them,” another user commented, seemingly making a joke.

In the video’s caption, posted on a Facebook group dedicated to UFO sightings and theories, the man requested group members to help him identify the object, which was seen in the footage as a colorful blob rapidly changing shape.

The man, Jon B Tipton, posted the 12-second video on the Texas UFO Network Facebook page claiming that there were a total of “three vehicles/crafts.”

“One was apparently only visible to the unaided eye and two red ones cross the frame from right to left, slow the video. The other is visible only to the naked eye and not captured in the video despite appearing to be co-located with this vessel,” Tipton claimed.
