SOUTHFIELD – Lawrence Technological University is hosting the DECA challenge Friday Dec. 16 on the Southfield Campus attracting some 1000 of the top high school students to demonstrate the business knowledge and skills they learned in the classroom.
DECA, formerly known as the Distributive Education Clubs of America, is an organization for emerging leaders in marketing, management, finance, hospitality, and entrepreneurship. High school students from the Detroit area will role-play real-world business situations, from marketing plans to business law cases to entrepreneurial pitches at the competition.
