JACKSON – Baker College says it has upgraded the computer technology laboratory at its Jackson campus and created a “Business Solution Center” to provide resources for the growing number of students in its information technology programs.
“In order to offer state-of-the-art IT training, upgrading technology is a constant,” said David Gomez, dean of business and technology programs at Baker College of Jackson. “The recent upgrades offer advanced equipment and programs to students. Our students also have the opportunity to gain real-world experience through the Business Solution Center where they will be developing business IT solutions and networking with potential employers right on campus.”
The new equipment in the cyber defense lab (pictured above) includes multiple Cisco routers and switches and a Dell virtual server. Combined, they deliver the capability to operate the IT infrastructure for three medium-size businesses.
