TROY – Syntel Thursday announced it is a presenting sponsor for the Enactus India National Competition to be held at the Leela Ambience, Gurgaon, India on July 21 and 22. Enactus is a global non-profit organization operating in 36 countries.

Enactus student members have spent the year working on entrepreneurial projects designed to positively impact the quality of life and living standards for members of their communities. These projects will be presented to a panel of more than 100 judges at the Enactus India National Competition.

During this two-day event, teams from leading colleges across India will showcase the results and impact of their community outreach projects, which will be evaluated by the judges over the course of three rounds of competition.

One team will be named India’s national champion, and will go on to represent the country at the 2015 Enactus World Cup in Johannesburg, South Africa from October 14-16, 2015.

Enactus was introduced in India in 2003 by Bharat Desai, Founder and Chairman of Syntel. Over the ensuing decade, Enactus has become a valuable opportunity for young entrepreneurs to meet, collaborate and learn from established business leaders while gaining real-world entrepreneurship experience.

“Syntel is proud to sponsor the Enactus India National Competition. We believe that entrepreneurship, social responsibility and community service can help create better lives and more vibrant communities,” said Syntel’s CEO and President, Nitin Rakesh. “With this in mind, we will continue to support Enactus and its goals of enriching the world.”

Syntel’s support for Enactus is part of its broader corporate social responsibility efforts, including its volunteer-driven charitable organization, S’Prayas.
