ANN ARBOR – Dakish Patel, who is working on his Bachelor’s of Business Administration at the University of Michigan, said he wanted to organize a trade show to showcase future technologies, including some startups developed at Michigan. On March 13, the Michigan Tech Expo will debut.

“We want people to come and experience the future,” Patel said. “We’re bringing the future to you.”

For a first-year show, Patel has recruited a stellar line up.

Patel said his model was the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, held in early January.

“Lots of of companies in parallel with ten different companies presenting products,” he said. “You’ll be able to listen to great speakers. Students will be able to submit resumes to potential employers.”

To cover initial costs, $16,000 was paid by the U-M BBA Council, the Ross FinTech Initiative and Google.
