ANN ARBOR  – If you are a non-technical entrepreneur, but you need to create a mobile App to drive traffic to your website, then you’re going to want to attend this bootcamp on June 2 that will provide you with “developer basics” so you understand app developers’ lingo and how to work with them.

The program is sponsored by The Michigan Small Business Development Center (MI-SBDC), the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan (MTAM) and Logic Solutions. It’s called “From Concept to Reality: Learn How to Work with a Mobile App Developer to Make it Happen.” The event will take place from 10 am to  3 pm at Washtenaw Community College.

Speakers for the event will include:

  • • Al Carpinelli, Business Development Manager for Logic Solutions
  • • Angela Kujava, Director of Innovation for Logic Solutions
  • • Matt Sarkesian, Chief Technology Officer for Logic Solutions
  • • Charles Penner, Regional Director of Greater Washtenaw Area SBDC

The workshop will focus on developer basics (understanding app developers and how to work with them to get what you want), creating a value proposition, defining app functionalities, setting priorities, and learning to wire-frame your concept.

“As entrepreneurship in Michigan continues to grow at a rapid pace, data is showing that a majority of these entrepreneurs want to make use of mobile/wireless technologies as part of their business model, but they often run into challenges due to their personal lack of technical skills. This workshop is designed to help them overcome that challenge by gaining the expertise needed to work with an outside development firm, or to hire the quality tech staff needed, or to identify a suitable technical co-founder. We encourage any entrepreneur with a great idea involving mobile/wireless technologies to take part in this Bootcamp, they’ll walk away with a plan that can help them move forward,” says MTAM CEO/Executive Director, Linda Daichendt.

The $50 registration fee includes all required materials, boxed lunch, and a snack. Registration is limited to 40 people and will close on May 27. You can register at http://ow.ly/85mF30056so.
