LANSING – Cloud services provider Liquid Web will be purchased by the Chicago private equity firm Madison Dearborn Partners. As part of the deal, Liquid Web founder and CEO Matthew Hill will be replaced by James F. Geiger, founder of Atlanta, Ga.-based Cbeyond, which developed the world’s first all-Voice Over Internet Protocol network. Cbeyond was acquired by Birch Communications last year for $323 million.
