TROY – On January 7 and January 18, Walsh College will hold informational meetings at regarding a U.S. Department of Defense-funded scholarship for concentrated studies in information assurance.
The meetings will be held at the Troy campus at 5 p.m. Room to be determined.
February 12 is the deadline to apply for the scholarships, available to undergraduate and graduate students beginning in the fall 2010 semester.
Individuals must be admitted to the Walsh Master of Science in Information Assurance program or another undergraduate or graduate program and specialize in information assurance.
The scholarship stipulates that recipients sign a written agreement obliging them to work for the Department of Defense as a civilian employee for one calendar year after graduation for each year of scholarship assistance the student received.
Recipients are also required to serve in Department of Defense internship positions while they are receiving scholarship support.

Scholarships are awarded based upon government funding and individual eligibility. They are expected to pay for tuition, fees, books, lab expenses, supplies and equipment, with a stipend covering room and board. Disabled students may receive additional allowances. There are no allowances for dependents.
