SOUTHFIELD ? Global business intelligence provider Veritas Global has hired Brian Gawne ? president of MotorCity Information Systems Security Association ? to its team as a managing director of computer forensics and IT investigations.

?Brian brings a great deal of computer security and forensic knowledge to our investigative operations,? said Gregory Suhajda, Veritas? chief operating officer. ?His expertise in assessing computer and network security allows us to better assist clients striving to protect sensitive data from competitors. Brian also has the ability to lead computer forensic teams to discover when and where data breaches have occurred and help us identify the individuals who may be involved.?

Prior to joining Veritas, Gawne co-founded Olympus Security Group Inc., where he led the security team which focused on security strategy, forensics, litigation support and risk mitigation activities. When Olympus Security Group Inc. was acquired by Computer Task Group, Inc in 2006 Gawne assumed responsibility for the security team for a 22-state region and founded a forensics practice for Computer Task Group.

Gawne was also a founder of The Sargon Group, Inc, an information security and risk mitigation corporation that was acquired by Nortel Networks in 2000.
