DETROIT ? The University of Detroit Mercy will add this fall a Master?s of Science in Information Assurance degree that combines computer information, engineering and criminal justices courses ? part of the college?s security curriculum.
The new degree program will only enroll 15 students in its inaugural class, said Dan Shoemaker, Director Centre for Assurance Studies UDM.
?We?re defining a bogy of knowledge in engineering, in forensics taught in the criminal justice school,?? Shoemaker said. ?We also teach them how to create security systems and policies and procedures. The National Security Agency is real familiar with the program.?
