BOCA RATON, Fl. – SECNAP Network Security Corp., a provider of security solutions, has announced the launch of its next generation e-mail security appliance: The advanced Email Security Gateway Powered by SpammerTrap that protects businesses from spam-borne viruses, Trojans, worms, DoS and DHA attacks and other malware.
“SpammerTrap is a direct result of our customers telling us that their current anti-spam solutions that they had installed over the years where not keeping up with the advancing attacks of today,” said Jim Garrity, vice-president of sales and marketing for SECNAP.
The next-generation SECNAP anti-spam solutions offer a unique combination of features and benefits that include anti-spam, anti-virus, anti-malware and more in one box. As well, the solution offers quick installation with no ongoing administrator maintenance required.
The company boasts virtually 100 percent accuracy and zero false positives in identifying and blocking malware.
“We are literally, in real time, on a daily basis monitoring what is going with e-mail security and we are updating our software daily to keep that accuracy level at 99.9 percent,” Garrity said.
Email Security Gateway Powered by SpammerTrap also features a highly advanced firewall, 4,000 security tests, tarpitting (an application that runs on the device that deters spammers over time to want to send spam to customers’ IP domain by consuming the bandwidth of the spammer) and a comprehensive sender reputation filter.
Other features include e-mail archiving, encryption, SSL certificate import, mailbox-based routing and a robust reporting package are standard with most models.
Garrity said a differentiator for SECNAP over its competitors such as Barracuda Networks and Symantec is the company’s laser focus on e-mail security.
“It will be a tremendous area of growth for us in the coming year [and] it’s an area where end user customers and VARs are asking for better, faster and easier to manage solutions,” he added.
SpammerTrap will be offered 100 percent through SECNAP’s channel partners. For VARs, Garrity explained that the new e-mail security appliance will help them provide to their customers a more accurate and easier to manage e-mail security solution that reduces risk and cost at a better price point and total cost of ownership. For VARs selling the solution, robust margins are available as well as a deal registration program.
In addition, SECNAP will be offering the new e-mail security appliance with an aggressive promotion for the first quarter of 2009. For each SpammerTrap appliance purchased within the free 30-day trial period, SECNAP will apply a credit of $995 toward the purchase, representing up to a full year of support.
