LANSING ? Another security expert will speak next Monday at the Michigan State Capital Building to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the Terrorist attacks of 9-11 ? Capt. Eddie Washington, State Deputy Director of Emergency Management and Homeland Security.

Washington is responsible for the statewide management and administration of emergency management and Homeland Security programs.

The event is hosted by the Michigan Homeland Security Consortium, a new Michigan security group that was created last summer. The keynote speech will be provided by Rep. Mike Rogers of Michigan?s 8th district is our honored keynote speaker for the public event. Rep. Rogers is a former FBI agent who sits on the House Select Committee on Intelligence and is Chairman of the Subcommittee on Intelligence Policy.

All events take place at the Anderson House Office Building, 124 N. Capitol Ave., Lansing 8 a.m. ? 11:00 a.m.

Noon – 1:30 p.m. Lunch and Ceremonial Tribute with Guest Speaker Rep. Mike Rogers.

All attendees must give themselves ample time to pass through Security at the meeting facility (valid ID is required).

Lunch will be provided and a $25 fee will be charged to defray expenses (cash or check to MIHSC).
