LANSING ? The Michigan Homeland Security Consortium has formed an advisory council to mentor its organization and Board of Directors.
The Council will be a group of independent business, community, economic development, education and homeland security leaders who will provide valuable guidance to help manager the consortiums rapid growth.
The new Advisory Council Director is Sarah Serra Prucha, Executive Director of the Center for Executive and Continuing Education at Oakland University. Sarah brings over 20 years of progressive higher education experience including positions as CEO, administrator, instructor, creative programmer, project manager, and business developer. Throughout her career, she also has maintained active community and professional association leadership.
?The Consortium formed only five months ago, and it has accelerated to a level where it can benefit from independent counsel,? Prucha said. ?The Advisory Council can be the catalyst to growing the Homeland Security industry within Michigan.?
Oakland University also serves as an in-kind sponsor of the Michigan Homeland Security Consortium. The university?s involvement with the MIHSC complements the Oakland University Emergency Management curriculum initiatives.
?It?s a natural step to supplement our strong Board of Directors with additional experts outside of our membership. The Advisory Council will bring together all the key stakeholders to accelerate growth of the industry,? said Keith Brophy, MIHSC Chairman and President of NuSoft Solutions.
