LANSING – The Michigan Homeland Security Consortium has appointed two new Executive Board Officers from within the homeland security industry sector. The newly elected officers are Stephen Potter, President of Patriot Service in Southfield and Renae Wallace, President, and CEO of Wallace RS Electric in Traverse City.

Keith Brophy of RCM Technologies and Thomas Hines of Secure-Matrix founded MIHSC in 2006 and led the development of the organization during the initial first two years.

�??The Consortium is strong and continues to move forward,�?� said former Chairman Brophy. �??I am proud of the progress the organization is making to grow the homeland security industry in our state. Steve and Renae have demonstrated strong leadership in the development of their businesses and are the right leaders to move the Consortium forward.�?�

New MIHSC President Stephen Potter said the homeland security industry in Michigan continues to grow providing economic opportunity to Michigan for member products and services.

�??I hope to continue building upon the goals started by MIHSC Founder, Keith Brophy, Thomas Hines and the MIHSC Board of Directors,�?� he said. �??My leadership priorities will be to strengthen MIHSC�??s commitment to the MIHSC Roundtable and the relationship started with bcVentures on the Michigan Homeland Security Resource Fund.�?�

Michigan is a hotbed of entrepreneurial activity in the homeland security sector. From start-ups to established manufacturers, MIHSC serves an important role in the revitalization of our state, said Executive Board Member, Renae Wallace. She said the MIHSC is always looking for new members and leaders willing to become involved in this organization. It is good for our businesses and our country.

MIHSC Roundtable: the Michigan Homeland Security Consortium established the MIHSC Roundtable in 2007. The purpose of the Roundtable is to bring public sector homeland security experts together with private sector homeland security entrepreneurs to help grow the HS industry and the Michigan Homeland Security Consortium in Michigan. Senator Valde Garcia serves as the Roundtable Chairman. In addition to MIHSC, Roundtable representatives include Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Michigan State Police, Michigan National Guard, Michigan State University and others.
