LANSING – Liquid Web a managed hosting company with locations in Michigan and Arizona has successfully completed a SSAE-16 (formerly SAS70) and SOC 3 examinations, relevant to security, availability, and processing integrity, and has been issued an Independent Service Auditor’s Report for both.
The report found that Liquid Web had addressed each of the controls criteria listed in the SOC 3 Principles and Criteria for Security and Availability. In addition to these reports, the company also received Safe Harbor Certification for International Privacy Principles. These labels provide distinction for businesses by addressing security, fidelity and privacy standards on transactions.
?In the hosting industry, users trust us with critical and, often, private data,? said Liquid Web Founder and CEO, Matthew Hill. ?We listened to our customers and have ensured peace-of-mind by employing the standards of business integrity and fidelity that are necessary to keep this data safe.?
The SSAE 16 audit process includes an in-depth audit examination of the effectiveness of a service organization’s internal controls. A SSAE 16 audit is very important to managed hosting customers as it ensures that internal controls are suitably designed and operating effectively, data is secured against threats, and that control policies have been evaluated by an independent third party. The SOC 3 report offers a slightly more streamlined level of reporting and was produced to address risks related to IT in critical areas including security and availability.
