SOUTHFIELD – Joe LaFeir has been promoted to senior vice president and chief information officer of the Polk business unit at R. L. Polk & Co., the company announced Thursday.
In this role, LaFeir will be the strategic leader responsible for directing Polk?s information services and technology functions. He will determine Polk?s long-term information technology (IT) needs and develop an overall IT business plan to support the company?s vision for the future. LaFeir will become a member of Polk?s Executive Leadership Team.

During his 19 years in the IT industry, LaFeir has held a variety of leadership positions. He joined Polk in 2004 and most recently served as vice president, production and chief technology officer. He also has held other information technology positions at Polk. Prior to joining Polk, he spent 12 years in management consulting at Capgemini and Ernst & Young.
