DETROIT ? Seminars on information assurance and patch management updates are the topics in May of two events co sponsored by the Grand Rapids and Motor City Chapters of the Information Systems Security Association.

On May 24, Walsh College is offering at its Novi Campus a half-day seminar on information assurance to government and not for profit organizations. Break-out sessions and panel discussions will cover the organization?s responsibilities in identity protection, policies to thwart cyber attacks and privacy regulations such as HIPAA and FERPA.

Each participant will receive a hand book of sample formulas and policies and a CD of links to important information. Speakers include Paul Rozek, Jefferson Wells; Roger Bolhouse, Speckin Labs; Mike Saad, Meridian Security; Shari Peltier, United Way; Carol Romej, Butzel Long; Nan Poulios, Walsh College. Tickets are $50 and include breakfast and lunch and may be purchased online.

On May 20, the Motor City Chapter is teaming up with InfraGard to present technical and management tracks at the Third Security Summit in Toledo, Ohio. The all-day event is hosted by the Northwest Ohio Chapter of ISSA at the Wyndham Hotel in downtown Toledo.
