TROY ? A Sharepoint Portal development project is among 29 student projects that will be showcased June 12, at the Walsh College Business Information Technology and Information Assurance Capstone Fair at the Troy campus. The fair is free to the public.
The Capstone project demonstrates to faculty, family, fellow students, and industry professionals that students have mastered their subject area before graduating. These students are in their final semester toward earning Walsh Master of Science in Information Systems or Master of Science in Information Assurance degrees.
Students are encouraged to solve a real-world problem in their Capstone projects. At this fair, projects range from significant research papers to e-commerce Web sites, Associate Professor Jeffery Livermore, Ph.D., said. Past projects include a robotics lab grant proposal, a database application for local Boy Scout troop management and insight into radio-frequency identifications (RFID) in libraries. Students often connect their projects to where they work, Livermore said.
The fair, which is free to the public, will be held from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in Room 128.
?The projects are extremely time-consuming and require a lot of hard work, yet they are extremely rewarding,? he said.
