DETROIT – This year?s Super Bowl will mark a new level of technology utilization in the efforts by DHS and other law enforcement agencies to battle terrorism. To help 65,000 plus fans converging on downtown Detroit stay focused on having a good time, many Metro Detroit technology companies are providing products and services to help keep attendees of Super Bowl XL secure.

Wireless, graphical, video, biometric, mobile and other technologies are all being applied by a host of government and private agencies. The weeks leading up to Super Bowl Sunday have been very busy ones for many companies in our area. Even the US Army is involved with testing being done for technology that they hope to utilize in Iraq and other combat situations. In my conversations with companies like Aerowire, who are working on the Wi-Max network infrastructure for some of these activities, they are unable to comment on much of the work being done now, but we should be able to cover more specifics immediately following the events this weekend.

Many members of Michigan Infragard are involved in the efforts to help Detroit shine for the world, and we want to say thanks to everyone involved for their hard work in helping to bring about one of the greatest positive events in the history of the city.

Go Detroit!
