YPSILANTI ? Eastern Michigan University?s Center for Regional and National Security is offering two classes that have been traditionally offered to law

enforcement officials, but have been modified for non-law enforcement

instruction. The classes are also part of EMU?s Masters in Information Security

Degree or the Information Security Certificate Program.

Cyber Crime I, this is a undergraduate and graduate level class. Graduate Section: INDT-533, CRN 16790, 3 Credit Hours Undergrad Section: INDT-479, CRN 18026, 3 Credit Hours

Class starts September 7 – Peter Stephenson will be the instructor.

This class is a hybrid with classroom instruction and on-line

instruction.

This course is part one of a two sequence course of study. It is

designed to prepare students to become effective cyber crime

investigators. The course examines the basic steps required in

hardware identification, TCP-IP, rules of electronic evidence, and

DOS., network investigation, case management and intrusion detection.

Computer Forensics I, is a graduate and undergraduate level class.

This class is a hands on course.- Instructor, Stephen Gaydos

This course addresses the comprehension and application of Computer

Forensic Investigations. Students will evaluate and synthesize

technical and legal issues in relation to digital evidence. Students

will apply various skills and techniques, combined with numerous

investigative software tools to analyze seized electronic media.

Students must comply with special admission requirements prior to

taking this course.
