TROY – February 13 is the deadline to apply at Walsh College for the U.S. Department of Defense-funded scholarship for concentrated studies in information assurance. The scholarships are available to undergraduate and graduate students beginning in the fall 2009 semester.
Individuals must be admitted to the Walsh Master of Science in Information Assurance program or another undergraduate or graduate program and specialize in information assurance.
The scholarship stipulates that recipients sign a written agreement obliging them to work for the Department of Defense as a civilian employee for one calendar year after graduation for each year of scholarship assistance the student received.
Recipients are also required to serve in Department of Defense internship positions while they are receiving scholarship support. The application and complete instructions are available on the Walsh College. Application materials are available at WalshCollege.Edu
Scholarships are awarded based upon government funding and individual eligibility. They are expected to pay for tuition, fees, books, lab expenses, supplies and equipment, with a stipend covering room and board. Disabled students may receive additional allowances. There are no allowances for dependents.
For program details, please phone Nanette Poulios, Walsh College Information Assurance director, at (248) 823-1369.
