HOWELL – The Michigan Homeland Security Consortium announced Friday that former Republican gubernatorial candidate Dick DeVos will be the keynote speaker for the security group’s Second Annual Venture & Angel Capital Symposium on Dec. 4 at Cleary University.

DeVos, son of Amway cofounder Richard DeVos, is president of The Windquest Group. In addition, MIHSC will provide information about its new partnership with Battle Creek Unlimited, which has been selected to manage and source the Michigan Homeland Security Resource Fund.

The fund will support Michigan state-based businesses and entrepreneurs through venture funding and non-monetary resources. BC Ventures, which is the Technology Business Accelerator group within Battle Creek Unlimited, will identify and attract up to $10 million in funding to invest in security and defense businesses.
