ADETROIT – The Michigan STEM Career Showcase, produced by the Michigan STEM Partnership and the Mobile Technology Association of Michigan, is a “show within a show” that will be held from 1-7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7 at TIM Detroit. The showcase will focus on increasing awareness about STEM careers, with a goal of increasing student STEM education participation and student pursuit of STEM careers. It will also provide information to parents and educators about the career opportunities available to students having STEM training due to substantial business and industry demand for STEM talent.
The event will bring together those currently working in STEM careers and companies that utilize STEM professionals, along with students, parents and educators to enable sharing of information through our STEM Village, expert presentations, panel discussions, and hands-on experiences.
Listen as Melissa Birnie interviews Mary Sutton, Executive Director of the Michigan Afterschool Partnership and a major sponsor of the STEM event, as they discuss the event agenda and why this is an important event for Michigan.
