LANSING – Todd Wyett, co-founder and CEO of Versa Development, has been named by Gov. Jennifer Granholm to the Michigan Economic Development Commission Executive Committee, where he will represent the private sector for an 8-year term through April 2016. Wyett has also been appointed to the MEDC Corporate Board for an indefinite term. He succeeds Hayden H. Harris whose term expired.

Wyett, who formerly served as Chairman of the Michigan State Waterways Commission, also is the the co-founder and CEO of NextGen Energy, LLC, an ethanol company currently developing plants in McBain and Watervliet, Michigan, as well as two experimental hybrid plants and an ethanol R&D center in Brooklyn, Michigan.

Wyett?s background includes chairing the Lyon Township Downtown Development Authority and serving as a member of the Oakland County Sheriff?s Advisory Council. He was also appointed to past Oakland County Business Roundables by County Executive L. Brooks Patterson.

He is a graduate of Georgetown University Law School in Washington, D.C. and resides in West Bloomfield.
