ANN ARBOR – The IT Zone is pleased to be working with a project team from the University of Michigan School of Information.
Last fall, our student team from SI attended many events and interviewed members and other attendees to determine how the IT Zone could better serve and communicate with its audience.
This year, our team will interview members and other technology companies to identify steps to improve our current efforts to help members locate talent and find jobs. The IT Zone lists job postings in our Weekly Update which is e-mailed every Monday and also in the Classified Section of this monthly e-mail newsletter.
The SI student team includes Michael Hains, Brandi Hoffman, Rupa Patel and David Zande.
Michael Hains is the lead programmer for Web Services Development at Creative Solutions, an accounting software company in Dexter. He has a degree in Computer Technology from Central Michigan University and has spent the last ten years developing secure online database-driven applications for the accounting industry. He is a first-year graduate student at the School of Information and is specializing in Human-Computer Interaction.
Brandi Hoffman comes to the School of Information after graduating from Central Michigan University, where she majored in English and minored in communications disorders.
Rupa Patel is a portal application developer for Pfizer?s Intellectual Property department. She holds a degree in Symbolic Systems with a concentration in Human-Computer Interaction from Stanford University. Previously, she worked at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention as a fellow and Plumtree Software as a developer. She is currently a Tailored first year master?s student at the School of Information and hopes to obtain a dual degree in business.
David Zande graduated from Oakland University with a degree in psychology. While attending school, he has worked as a film and digital projectionist. He is now enrolled at the University of Michigan?s School of Information and is focusing on Archives and Records Management.
