ANN ARBOR ? A familiar face at the Ann Arbor IT Zone is Bill Wagner, one of the principals in SRT Solutions, a Microsoft and SUN consultant. Wagner also hosts the Ann Arbor Computer Society and Ann Arbor .Net development group meetings each month in the IT Zone space in SPARK Central.

The Ann Arbor Computer Society meets the first Wednesday of each month, and the Ann Arbor .Net Users group the second Wednesday.

Why meet in the IT Zone space, now renamed SPARK Central?

?We used to meet on north campus, but they charged us a lot of rent and it was too far away from our audience,?? he said. ?The IT Zone is local and right downtown.?

Developing the user groups also helps SRT Solutions deliver on its mission statement, ?To help software developers do their jobs better,?? Wagner said.

SRT Solutions? is an evangelist for Microsoft and Sun products. SRT Solutions? particular expertise is .NET and J2EE platform technologies.

?We do software consulting and software mentoring,? Wagner said. ?We work with larger companies developing software for their internal use as well. We teach them and help them develop their next project.?

Wagner started SRT Solutions in 2000 with partner Dianne Marsh, both of whom started doing software development in 1986. In 2004, Josh Holmes joined the company. Holmes specializes in mobility solutions based on .NET technology.

Wagner and Holmes focus on desktop and mobility applications, while Marsh does Java and UNIX development for large server projects.
