AUBURN HILLS – Plexus Systems, provider of
Plexus Online on-demand software for the manufacturing enterprise,
announces the formation of the first-ever Plexus Supply Chain Community.
Technology consultants Revolution Group, Inc. convened key Honda Motor
Company suppliers to provide a forum for knowledge sharing and
collaboration about the Plexus Online on-demand ERP system.
The group of tier one and tier two suppliers shares the goal of using
Plexus Online to meet customer facing requirements for delivery, quality,
responsiveness and flexibility. Through in-person conferences and an online
community, members collaborate to operate cost-effectively and efficiently.
Notes Mark Symonds, Plexus Systems, Inc. President and CEO, “Use of
Plexus Online within the Honda supply chain has expanded significantly.
This unique supplier community strengthens the value it provides to Honda
through performance improvements related to shipping, receiving, ordering,
parts labeling, inventory management, manufacturing and a range of other
business processes.”
“A hallmark of an effective supply chain is for suppliers across the
enterprise to effectively manage materials, production and processes,”
notes Karen Patterson, Senior Consultant with Columbus, Ohio-based
Revolution Group, Inc. and facilitator of the Plexus Supply Chain
Community. “Now, Plexus Online subscribers among the Honda supply chain are
working together for the first time as a community, and have a clear path
to reach out to each other – sharing best practices and common challenges
as they meet mandates from the OEM.”
Since its inception, the Plexus Supply Chain Community has received
positive feedback from member companies and Honda who gain value from
consistent, cohesive communication and improved supply chain performance.
