ANN ARBOR ? Two automotive pros, Donald Cassidy and Brant Ross, will discuss what it takes to bring new technology into the industry and commercialize it during a joint presentation Sept. 21 by the Ann Arbor IT Zone and the New Enterprise Forum.

The under card will be showcase presentations by TECAT Engineering and Environmental Transportation Solutions. TECAT makes a wireless torque sensing device, while ETS is commercializing a low speed electric commercial fleet vehicle that will sell for under $10,000.

The panel discussion will feature Cassidy who spent his entire 41-year working career with General Motors. He closed out his career as Manager of Global Technology Planning, developing the process to deal with technology projects from outside sources.

Ross has more than 25 years experience in improving the design of mechanical products by simulating the physics of the product in operation as an engineer with John Deer, GM and Mechanical Dynamics.
