ROCHESTER – Oakland University?s Pawley Institute is accepting registrations through September 4 for Lean Principles and Application, a project-based graduate course in lean discovery, development and deployment.
The class meets at OU on Saturdays, September 10 through December 1, 2007 from 9 a.m. to noon.
Lean Principles and Application is intended to provide students with knowledge and skills related to lean rules, concepts, tools and supporting systems based upon interdisciplinary perspectives. Participants will have an opportunity to work on site at various types of operations within manufacturing and/or service sectors, in private and/or public areas, and for-profit or not-for-profit organizations.
Work activity analysis, value and non-value added processes, tools to identify and eliminate the root causes of waste, and lean management will be addressed.
Lean Principles and Application is offered for four graduate credits with enrollment options in human resource management (HRM), information systems engineering (ISE) or production and operations management (POM).
