STERLING HEIGHTS – The Macomb-Oakland University INCubator is hosting its inaugural Project Management Principles Certificate Course through Oakland University’s Professional and Continuing Education unit.
This is an expansion of Mac-OU INC’s current PACE offerings, which include the Lean Green Belt and Lean Black Belt certificate programs.
Mac-OU INC’s current business development programs bring in nearly 5,000 attendees per year. Strengthening the connection with PACE through Project Management, and other subsequent continuing education programs, will allow Mac-OU INC to expand its assistance to the business community.
Focusing on management concepts across a wide range of professions, the course is designed to answer the needs of companies interested in finding high-level employees capable of managing the complex, global projects in today’s work environment.
Team leaders, business planning personnel, functional managers, process and performance improvement team members and those interested in learning the core knowledge tested on the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional (PMP) exam are encouraged to enroll.
“We are excited to provide this comprehensive project management class in Macomb County, given the heavy defense and manufacturing presence. We expect employees from startups, prime contractors and everything in between to take advantage of this offering,” said Julie Gustafson, Macomb-OU INCubator executive director.
Officially registered with the Project Management Institute, this course focuses on the following during 35 contact hours:
The Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Knowledge Management areas (Project Integration, Scope, Human Resource, Time, Cost, Quality, Risk, Communications, Procurement and Stakeholder Management)
The PMI’s Process Groups (Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Control, and Closing)
