ANN ARBOR – The IT Zone is supporting the efforts of Washtenaw Community College (WCC) and the Ann Arbor Chapter of the Association of Women in Computing (AWC) to encourage women students to join the next generation of IT professionals. The Zone is helping sponsor the Women in Computing and Information Technology (WiCIT) dinner November 28.
WCC and AWC are hosting this dinner for women students from fifteen colleges and universities that are studying computer science and information technology. The keynote speaker is Teri Takai, Director of Information Technology for the State of Michigan. Director Takai will discuss her career and offer her insights on the unique role women play in the field of information technology.
AWC and IT Zone members will be on hand to share their experiences as IT professionals.
