ANN ARBOR – Longtime Ann Arbor IT Zone members Larry Eiler and Rob Pasick have moved their weekly radio show from WAAM Talkradio 1600 in Ann Arbor exclusively to the Internet as a podcast.

Eiler, CEO of Eiler Communications, and Pasick, a faculty affiliate of the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan who hosts the LeadersConnect monthly breakfasts at SPARK Central, decided WAAM didn?t give them the reach they were looking for. The show aired on Sundays from 1-2 pm. Now it is available 24/7 only online.

?We started on WAAM and found out we weren?t getting many listeners and went to podcast, because it?s a way for people to access us,?? Pasick said. ?We don?t have the responsibility now for paying for the air time. It?s not what we?re about. We?re trying to get out there and spread the word on what we?re doing.?

And Pasick said the show?s mission is to put a positive spin on what?s happening in the state for entrepreneurs.

?We wanted to highlight what we saw as successful and positive people who aren?t getting a voice because the voice of the press is primarily negative,? he said.

Guests have included Rich Sheridan, founder and CEO of Menlo Innovations, and Mike Finney, CEO of Ann Arbor SPARK and Washtenaw Development Council. One show was devoted to serial entrepreneur Ron Reed and his thoughts on the Venture Capital culture in Michigan.

The only down side from podcasting is the technology currently is not interactive. People can?t phone the radio station and have an on-air live conversation with Eiler or Pasick. So the next step for them will be to create a web blog that will solicit and post listeners? comments.
