DETROIT – Honda Motor Co. will join up with two other Japanese titans in a group that will develop networking and software for vehicles. Along with Nissan and Toyota, Honda will work in the Japan Automotive Software Platform and Architecture, or Jaspar, group that is trying to standardize software and networks for vehicle control systems.
The Japanese group may approach European consortiums to get them to accept the new standards, all in an attempt to reduce development costs for all involved.
