Nov. 12th ?Due Diligence? covering the fundamentals of the analysis process
Dec. 3rd ?Term Sheets? the basics of what is needed for angels
Blue Water Angels and GLA are partnering to offer this series. Finding profitable investment opportunities can be a challenge ? but community-based private equity might be an area you?ve overlooked.
Regional economic growth requires new businesses and an ecosystem able to support startups. The most cited failure in addressing this need has been available seed capital. Recent economic studies have documented that virtually all net new job creation comes from startups yet local financial support continues to evaporate. While the lack of financing has become the highest priority for startups, it is creating new financial practices to take advantage of these investment opportunities.
The Great Lakes Angels is a nonprofit corporation. The mission is to organize and mentor angel investors and provide a forum for them to grow in knowledge and wealth and foster more of the same – to help invest in entrepreneurial companies in the Region. GLA typically has numerous “deals” presented, high-level content and quality speakers and panelists on key issues of angel investing. Current “Angels” and high net worth “potential Angels” can meet in a confidential and educational environment to discover opportunities for mutual areas of investment. Experts can be identified and shared to assist in due diligence on technologies outside the individual’s own comfort zone and help transition investors into new exciting technologies for the growth of companies in the Region and their own personal portfolio.
