KALAMAZOO – The Kalamazoo Area Mathematics & Science Center (KAMSC) is planning to host the First Southwest Michigan Science & Engineering Fair on March 18 at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Western Michigan University.

The science fair is sponsored by KAMSC in with cooperation with Western Michigan University and the Battle Creek Area Mathematics & Science Center. It will be affiliated with The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), which is the world’s largest pre-college celebration of science.

Annually each May, the Intel ISEF brings together more than 1,300 students from approximately 40 nations to compete for scholarships, tuition grants, internships, scientific field trips and the grand prize: A $50,000 college scholarship. The overall first place finisher at the regional fair will attend the Intel ISEF.

The First Southwest Michigan Science & Engineering Fair is open to all students in the Kalamazoo, Van Buren, Allegan and Calhoun counties. Regional Fair Director is John Goudie Ed.D. [email protected]
