FLINT – ConnecTech Greater Flint is hosting a road rally with a technology twist on June 27. Teams will be given clues based upon Flint’s historical global leadership in transportation technology, a drive and learn experience.

The point is by navigating the course, teams will discover the high-tech companies and organizations that are leading the area??s resurgence as a leader in diverse technological ventures.

Teams who successfully navigate the course will end up at one of Flint??s more popular watering holes where the scores will be tabulated and the winners announced. The First Place team will receive $400 in gas cards, Second Place will win $100 in gas cards and Third Place will win a $50 gas card. Food and beverages will be provided to all participants.

??We thought this would be a fun way to show people that Flint is changing,? said Cecil Hahn, chapter president. ??We??re not just a factory town anymore. There are exciting things happening here and new companies moving in. This gives people who are interested in that change a way to get together with others who share the vision for Flint??s future. Plus, they could win free gas.?

Scoring will be based upon a combination of optimal speed and time between checkpoints to encourage participants to drive safely. The event is open to the public with teams starting at 6 pm from the parking lot of the Flint Area Convention and Visitors Bureau at 316 Water Street in downtown Flint. Registration is $25 per car for non-members and $10 per car for members.
